Yojo-han (Four and half-tatami room)

This is Shiki’s sister Ritsu’s room.
In order to care for Shiki, who suffered from spinal caries, Ritsu slept in the room next door, where she could hear her brother calling her at night.
This room was warm in the winter because it had a “Kotatsu”, and the young daughters of the family next to the back, Kuga Katsunan (the owner of the newspaper “Nippon”, where Shiki worked), often came here to visit.
